From the time of King Canute to that fateful day October 14th 1066, the fate of England lay in the hands 
of the Godwin family and in particular Earl Godwin father of King Harold.
<BR><BR>

Earl Godwin rose to prominence during the reign of King Canute and managed to cement his influence 
upon England during the reign of Edward the confessor.
<BR><BR>

This documentary follows the lives of both Earl Godwin and his son Harold Godwinson (Harold II),their influence, power and diplomacy steered England for several decades.
<BR><BR>
This is their story.
